Welcome. My name is Megan, and I’m a 2015 graduate of Kent State University with a B.S. in News – magazine journalism. Even though I’ve been out of college for over a year now, my voice is on a continuous journey. During my time at Kent State, I worked with a variety of on-campus publications such as The Kent Stater, KSUBuzz, The Burr and A Magazine. I also was a contributor for the Lala, an online magazine devoted to creative, positive content for college women. When I first moved to Pittsburgh in June of 2015, I was a writing intern for Nakturnal, a digital marketing agency in Pittsburgh. I am still searching for a full-time opportunity, but as of right now, I am a writer for Pittsburgh’s Maniac Magazine, as well as a gallery attendant at The Andy Warhol Museum.
Personally, I’ve always had a passion for writing and expressing my thoughts to others. I enjoy writing anything from poetry to concert reviews.
Besides writing, music is what really speaks to me. I’m a vinyl collector, concertgoer and a wannabe harmonica player. Since my father grew up going to concerts such as Led Zeppelin, CSN&Y, Santana, Jefferson Airplane and more, I obviously inherited a great sense of music. I mostly dig blues and rock ‘n’ roll, and I’ve been lucky enough to see such performers as the Allman Brothers Band, Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, Robert Plant, ZZ Top, The Who, Fleetwood Mac, The Black Keys, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and more.
